Hey everyone,
A few unrelated questions to anyone who can answer them:
1. Where can I find tapes of previous WSOPs (online or otherwise)?
2. I have recently started playing poker, and regularly play shorthanded
hold'em games in my home. What books and/or websites do you reccommend I
read to help me with strategy, bluffing ect (currently, I own only 'Poker
for Dummies')? I know that 'Super System' by Doyle Brunson is regarded as
one of the best poker theory books by many pros, but is this to advanced for
a beginning player?
3. Lastly, what do you think are the best betting limits/rules for an
at-home shorthanded (3-4 person) hold 'em games?
Thanks alot.

You can probably find answers to all these if you just search the site.

www.conjeco.com or you can always find them on e-bay...in my experience at
a sometimes shorter price as well.

I'd hold off a while on reading Brunson or Sklansky or it may just fly
right by. Those books are targeted at players participating in higher
stakes games and with higher experience levels. IMHO the Lee Jones book
is a good starter book.

Depends on the type of bankroll your other players have and their level of
risk-aversion (or lack thereof)...If you're talking about 4 loose
aggressive plastic surgeons you probably want to make the stakes a little
higher than a 3-6 game.
The "home games" I occasionally play in are usually pot limit or 20/40.
Don't know if that's your gig or not. Just a sugggestion.

Thank you both very much for taking the time to reply. That clears up a
great deal of my questions.
Thanks again!

No, it won't get you hurt. It might get you hurt if you don't
understand it, and it may be that the books don't do an adequate job
of explanation. But, the stuff itself isn't going to get you hurt. I
think Jones does do any adequate job of explanation, btw. He gets
some of it wrong, but for the most part it's a pretty good book.
The HE for Advanced Players book gets some of it sersiously wrong, and
doe not do an adquate job of explantion. I don't recommend that one.
I used to, when there weren't a lot of options, but I don't anymore.

I realized after reading your post that I may have been too critical
of Jones. This is one of the best books I have ever read although it
was one of my later acquisitions. I had for some time been trying to
play low limit like 10-20 and it wasn't until Jones made me understand
the difference that I started to do better. No book will get the
beginner on track faster than Jones.
