How would you have won? He was ahead the whole way. K-9os is NOT a
good hand. K-9 SUITED is not a good hand. Having the 9h with a
4-flush on Board is NOT a good hand. You played it wrong on so many
levels it isnt even funny.

A) You shouldnt have paid to see a flop
b) You should have folded on the flop
c) you should have checked the turn and praid no one raised you
d) how the hell were you up in the first place????

Take your winnings and run. Never play again. I hear Go Fish is a
nice game.

Thanks for the advice, I think I'll keep playing.

It was a good call, I know my friend better than you do. I'll call
preflop with K-9o on him all night long, thank you.

"I'll call preflop with K-9o on him all night long, thank you."

Here's the problem... Say you both had $20 in front of you. The blinds
are .01-.02. When he raises $1 before the flop, he is risking $1 to win
3 cents. Not a very good bet on his part. You call with K9. You are
risking $1 to win $1.03. Also not a great play with K9. Even if you
know he's a bluffer.

You have $20, so if the game has 6 players, it costs you 3 cents to see
6 hands, or half a penny per hand. For the dollar you just put in the
pot with a K9, you could have seen 200 hands! In 200 hands, you can
expect AA, KK, QQ...about once each, as well as a good combination of
other big hands like K10 or Q6 suited. So the best strategy would be to
wait for hands like these pre-flop, since you are forced to risk so
little.

Well then, why are you asking for advice? You are basing your
question and subsequent answer on a couple of little facts
that you failed to mention--that your friend, apparently,
bets on anything and that you are currently running over the
table.

So, now you're telling us that you KNOW you made a good call. What
nuggets of wisdom were you hoping to get from replies to your first
post?

Did you expect someone to tell you that calling 5 times the blind,
from the Blind with K9o, was a good call?

I think he said .1 and .2. So, 30 cents, not 3 cents.

Now back to your regularly scheduled newbie-flaming... :)
