View Full Version : Thank you.......... GrimJack!
I just wanted to say thank you, GrimJack. You are always sincere and try to
be genuinely helpful in your replies to people. Some have accused you of
being a spammer, but I disagree. I would not have known about the free $75
at Titan without you and I thank you for that, as well. I just wanted to let
you know I appreciate your contributions to rgp.

First, I never said GrimJack was a spammer. I just thought it to be
pretty funny that he posted a link to his affiliate stuff and said,
"This is not my offer... please use my referral code".
Nothing at all wrong with links to affiliate stuff in your sig line,
but the above statement was just too funny.

It's also pretty funny that this thread is your first post to
rec.gambling.poker....

I must agree with this post - I also went through his link to get the free
$$$ on Titan, and it absolutely does work exactly the way he (and they)
said. I also have to say that the advice I've seen him post is pretty good
- he honestly seems to know what he's talking about, and really just wants
to help the players. I would never consider his posts spam...
Of course, he's getting a kickback for doing it, but so what? If he's
being honest, then why shouldn't he...?
Thanks Grimjack!!!

Thanks.
I am glad you were able to take advantage of the Titan FreeBankroll.
You got in at the right time, as they recently reduced the Titan
Freebankroll to $50.
I hope you are having a good time playing there and that you parlay it
into something big...like an entry into the WSOP...or hit one of their
jackpot sit and goes.
Good Luck!

Actually, in only a few SnG's and one cash game, I've already increased
the initial deposit by 20%. I like the interface and the site is quick and
easy to play. About the only complaint I might have is the lack of 6-seat
SnG's at the $5 level - only 10 and 20 seats... That is nowhere near a
huge problem though...
Thank again!!

Of course there's no problem with him getting paid for signing people
up for poker rooms. I never said there was. It's the 'being honest'
part I've been posting about.
When he says "This isn't my offer, I just pass the info along to people
who might
benefit from it." and follows with, "If you find it useful, please
consider using my
referral code: GRIMJACK808 when signing up with PSO.", he's not really
being that honest, is he?
If he had left the first line off and just came out and said "This is
an affiliate program I'm whoring for, sign up and use my referral code
if you find it useful", that would've been honest, although it wouldn't
have been as effective.
I didn't even say his post to that thread was spam. In fact, that was
the right place for him to post his stuff. This thread, however, IS
SPAM designed to make GrimJack808 look like he's NOT a spammer. That is
too freakin' funny.

First: technically, it's not his offer - the offer is from PSO. IMO, he is
doing what he says - passing along an offer.
Second: he never directly asks you to use his code, rather he asks that
"If you find it useful, please consider..." - I have seen NO other
affiliates or 'site whores' on RGP state this so clearly, or be so casual
about their offers.
Third, and more importantly: unlike most of the other spammers and 'site
whores' that post on RGP, Grimjack takes the time and puts forth the
effort to offer real poker advice. I have found several of his posts to be
informative and helpful.
There are, without question, too many true spammers on RGP - they are
obvious. IMHO, Grimjack is not one of them. I have no problems with
reading a post by any poster offering legitimate advice and constructive
criticism - if that person also happens to be an affiliate for a site,
then I also have no problem with them 'doing their job' (particularly if
they take the 'soft sell' approach exhibited by Grimjack). What annoys me
is the constant barrage of idiots who take up valuable disk space trying
to get people to spend their money on thier sites without any shred of
decency. If there were more Grimjacks, and fewer name_names, this site
wouldn't be so damn hard to navigate and read.
By the way, this is NOT meant as a flame to you Till... I understand your
point, and agree in general - I just disagree in this particular case...

Agreed. I really don't have a problem with GrimJack. Just thought it
funny the way he presented his offer (I know, not technically his, but
he profits from it by promoting it, and No, there's nothing wrong with
that either. When I get chiphog.com online, I'll be affiliate whoring
on it as well, but only through a tagline at the bottom of my posts.)

I agree. GrimJack is one of the most valuable contributors to rgp.

Hmmm - a google of Mr. Rip Asstankard's posts to ANY newsgroup shows
exactly 6 posts (including this one), and the earliest of them is dated
May 2, 1:45 PM.
Certainly enough history with RGP for us to consider him NOT to be a
GrimJack alter-ego, don't ya think?
You should've at least TRIED to be less obvious. Now you've gone and
lost ALL my respect.

LOL Do you think he'll lose sleep over that? Are you giving odds? Count me
in as a GrimJack supporter. He's good for rgp.

So, you actually have a problem with someone demanding a little
integrity from those who propose to conduct business with them?
Amazing.
