I haven't visited the South Bay area in 2 years. Do they still spread
stud/8 at Garden City? If so, at what limits?
Thanks!

I read someone's LJ about playing Stud 8 a GC, so I'm pretty sure it's still
spread. I think it was 4-8 when I used to play it about 5 or 6 years ago, and
it was a rammin' jammin' game with mostly clueless players.

4/8 and 4/8 SCOOP (i.e. 1/2 kill) are still spread, with mostly old-timers
playing (i.e. rock garden). Not profitable in the long run due to $3 drop per
hand.

Thank you, Oliver.
Your characterization of the regular stud/8 players as rocks is
fairly surprising to me. When I was a regular there in 2000 and
during my frequent travel visit in 2001-02, most of the regulars in the
4/8 game were pretty bad.
I'm glad, however, to hear it's still being played there. Perfect for a
tourist like me in town for a week. :-)
Best,
David
