Hello All,
I have some questions about transportation from NY to AC casinos. I want
to leave mid-town on a friday afternoon about 5pm. I have been to NYC a
few times and know that traffic will be brutal so it would it be quicker
and less hassle to take the train to Philly then some form mass
transportation to AC. Or do I get on a bus and wait it out in traffic. I
haven't taken the bus in 10 years but I remember them leaving from the
port authority and taking about 4.5 hours a good day. Is that still the
case?
Any suggestion or advice would help. I sure you all want this fish to get
to the tables as soon as possible.
Thanks

The train out of NYC to Phily at 5 on a Friday is hell also. Very crowded,
standing room only. Then you have to transfer to the AC train in Phily which
is also a lot of wading through crowds. Then when you get to AC, you have to
get from the Convention Center to the Boardwalk. That means a taxi or jitney,
or a long walk. Do you really have to leave NY at 5 on Friday? A few hours
earlier or later and the bus is the obvious choice. My advice either way is,
take the bus and take a book to read. Less transfering, less hassle, and
Academy offers you most of the fare back when you get to the casino.

There is a plane from Republic airport in Farmingdale, LI. $79 round trip
including transportation from the airport to the casino of your choice

If money is no object, look into flights from Westchester to AC. There must
at least be somewhat regular charters.
