View Full Version : Beauty Contest - Online vs B&M Poker Players

Poker players, I would have to say, are on the bottom scale of attractiveness.
Most are overweight and out of shape. Their attire is unbecoming and their
social skills often appear to be lacking.

I have even found myself gravitating unfortunately towards that end. I used to
run 3 miles every morning, but I don't do that anymore. I don't eat as healthy
as I once did either. Oh, maybe this has to do more with being married than
playing poker!

But at least a poker player in a casino has to put in a slight effort vs. an
online player who doesn't even need to dress. Or even communicate with people.

Are online players unhealthier in appearance and communication skills? Online
poker hasn't been around as long but I wonder what some of these exclusively
online only people will be like in 10 or 20 years.

Thankfully, my wife would kill me if I dressed like I wanted to at times. I
also have a part-time job so I go in an office, get dressed, and do the
required work socialization that keeps me sharp.

Cheers

I don't know where you play, but on PokerStars
all the men look like foxy little porno starlets.
In B&Ms, only the occasional runaway girlfriend
can match them for looks.

So there.

Boy, talk about making a virtue out of a necessity.

Seriously, though, Tbill said it best recently when he wrote that if all you do
is play poker all you will be able to do is play poker.

Speaking as a man who plays on Pokerstars, I resemble that remark!

(Yeah, I know, spelling error -- but truthfully it was just too easy.
As to why the _women_ all look like porno starlets, have you ever
noticed the table chat when one of those pictures pops up? I used to
play the game "Diplomacy", where women are rare as hens' teeth and
attractive women are even rarer, and in that game women frequently did
better than the average player because of the flirtation factor. Make
of that what you will.)
