What does a Kill and 1/2 kill mean? Can't find
it in any poker book under the Poker Terms
sections, yet I see this term used a lot.
Thanks for the help!

Kills and 1/2 kills raise the stakes. Usually in HE or Omaha. In HE, stakes
10-20, if someone wins two hands in a row with a minimum pot size, the stakes
go to 20-40 in full kill and 15-30 in 1/2 kill. In Omaha, it's usually if
someone sweeps a minimum sized pot. Usually it's based on the large blind, like
5 times the big blind.

dont forget to mention that the person who wins and creates a kill, is
forced to play that new bet...like a new big blind almost.

I have a follow-up question that I've always wondered about. Why would
you want to play at a kill table? If you wanted the higher betting,
wouldn't it just be better to play at a higher limit table?
