View Full Version : Turning Stone info request
I am going to be visiting my friends in upstate NY for about a week and
wanted to check out the Turning Stone poker room. It's about a 2 hr drive
from where I'll be staying and I wanted to make sure that there is a game
going on when before taking the trip. I am mostly interested in hold 'em,
6-12 and below. Basically, I want to know what the best day/time would be
to visit Turning Stone to be sure there is a game going and the wait list is
not too long.
Thanks,
Bud

Hi Bud,
During the week, you can find a 3-6 game almost all the time except
early mornings (3-10am), and sometimes even then. 5-10 goes sometimes
but dont count on it. The same with the 1-3 spread limit, never fold
a hand pre-flop EVER, game. :)
On the weekends, 1-3 spread, 3-6, 5-10 and sometimes even 2-4 are
going from mid-afternoon on, but the waiting list for 3-6 is sometimes
long and the list for 2-4 is lenghty (45 mins. and up) during peak
times. No 6-12, next up is 10-20.
They also have tournys Mon-Sat usually starting between 11 and 2pm.
My favourite tourny is Tues. night no limit, $35 buy-in, $10 re-buy, 5
$10 bounties (usually about 50 people).
If you want more specific, just ask here or email me

I used to play at Turning Stone every other week or so for a few months
(occasionally in the poker room) and I never got carded, nor did anyone in
my party (a couple of times there were one or two guys that were younger
college aged and looked much younger than they were, and they didn't get
carded). However, I would advise strongly against playing tournaments
because I would imagine they would check your ID pretty frequently,
whereas cashing out from rink games would be fairly safe.
