Who is alleging this? Does this person have an actual name? If true, this
is not a minor scandal, especially after it has already been denied that
they did it. The guy alleging it is acting like it's par for the course.
If it happened, I would consider it outright cheating, grounds for the most
extreme sort of criticism. A gross violation of trust.

To be very clear though: I don't believe it. I refuse to take some
random alias on a message board at their word. But if it's true, we need
to hear more. And unfortunately that tale is a little too specific not
to have a certain ring of truth. Alternate explanations? Please? I can't
handle having any more illusions shattered today.

Disclaimer: I don't know what I'm talking about, and I'm replying to
a thread populated by very good professional players.

If they were seeding things generally, then they would try to keep the
best players apart. If they were seeding things to get *certain*
players further in the tournament, then they might want the best of
the non-favored players to be seated together, so that they'd be more
likely to knock each other out early.

Again, I have no knowledge whatsoever that anything like this has ever
occurred. I'm just giving a possible motivation.
