I've been looking around at a few of their websites, and it doesn't
appear to be any in Chicagoland/NW Indiana. Am I just missing
something, or is their just not interest to run $50-100 buyin
tournaments around here?

There doesn't appear to be any interest, at least in Illinois. The
casinos love slot machines and banked games, but don't seem to care
enough to run good poker rooms. And the number of licenses is capped,
so no chance of getting standalone cardroom in the near future. :-(

Home games are your only real shot. There are occasional tourneys
listed on homepokergames.com

Both Harrah's and Blue Chip in IN run tourneys but they are during the
day. I beleive the buy-in is around $20-30 but not sure if there are
re-buys. Call the poker room for more details.

Harrahs in East Chicago has an $80 + $10 limit hold-em tourney every Thursday
at 1:00pm. Registration starts at 10:00 and is usually sold out by 11:30 to
the first 100 people.
