I asked that Russ write what he has to say and John and I write what we have
to say individually, this is what John Martino and I have to say as Russ has
written his.
With heads down and EYES CLOSED the powers that be have fought and have
won. Preserving the status-quo------Their particular status-quo.
Mike Caro announced intentions to have an interview with some people that
have scammed and cheated, upon announcement some people in comfortable
positions became very uncomfortable.
We [John Martino and Bill Nirdlinger] have dealt poker in L.V. in the 70's
and were around in the 80's and have done business with the big names in
poker. Our intentions were never to expose these people, [can't see what
good this would be]
When we came to L.V. 30yrs. ago high stakes poker was scam & cheat or be
scammed and cheated. Some names and places have changed and the way it is
done has become better and more sophisticated but not much else.
We agreed to do this interview with Mike Caro and I gave my word that
if he made the announcement that I would not change my mind and leave him
out in the cold. We mistakenly believed that cardrooms wanted to clean
things up, we even started a business that would analyze poker, and make it
harder to scam and cheat. Yes! with hope of profit from it, our motivation
was not altruistic in any way.
The battle raged and we have lost, though we still stand , we now stand
alone. We gave our word to Mike Caro,[NEVER THOUGHT WE HAD TO ASK FOR HIS
WORD]
We feel we have been betrayed.
Now all of the people that write into Rec. gambling poker and correct
everyone's spelling and all the other important things that you do can take
a bow The Powers that be have won.
AND I For ONE FEEL YOU ARE ALL GETTING JUST WHAT YOU DESERVE.
