Not to be too discouraging to you, but I've also tried this in the past, and
they don't want any part of it.
The person you would talk to, would be the Pit bosses, and like I said, they
are totally hooked on the 1 armed bandits.
Closest Casino Poker would be Caesars, Indiana, up around Louisville, Ky, OR
.... another really great place to play poker, is Dayton Charity Poker.
Here is their Website here:
http://www.daytoncharitypoker.com
click on events, and it'll tell you where they are on any given week.
You see, Charity Poker is indeed quite legal in Ohio, and these guys do a
bang on job of it, and run their games just like the Casino's do, with Vegas
style, Table stakes games.
Ask them to point out Debbie (me) if you decide to come up there tonight.
This weeks event is at:
American Legion Post #746
7015 N. Dixie Drive
Dayton, Ohio
Doors open tonight at 5pm Eastern, and on Saturday and Sunday, doors open at
2pm Eastern.
They have a tournament where based on 30 players, they guarantee a prize of
a cool grand (1,000 bucks) to the winner.
Cost for the Tourney is only 30 bucks, and for the first hour, it's a limit
tourney with unlimited rebuys for 20 bucks.
After the First hour, there is a break, and after the break you'll be given
a final chance to do rebuys (you can do more than one set of rebuy ... as 20
bucks buys you 300 more chips, so if you like, you can pay an extra say 60
bucks, and get 900 more chips as an example), then no more rebuys are
allowed, and it turns into a NL tourney.
Today the Tourney starts at 6pm Eastern, on the weekends, it starts at 3pm
Eastern.
However, they don't always start at time, and most times they start a half
an hour later. If you arrive AFTER the tourney starts, you can still buy
in, but the blinds you missed, will be subtracted from your chips, before
you sit down.
Directions are for this weeks event, from Cincinnati:
Take I-75 North to Dayton.
In Dayton, Exit I-75 North at Needmore Road
At top of Ramp, Turn Left and go back over Interstate.
Go 3 Stop lights to North Dixie
Go through 1 stoplight, and start looking on the left hand side of the road.
shortly after you go through the stoplight, on your left, you should see the
American Legion Post.
Game is being held upstairs.
Contact for information or directions is:
Ron - 937-855-3131 or Dave - 937-416-0444
After the people start to be eliminated from the Tourneys, they start up the
cash games. This normally happens about 2 hours after the start of the
Tournament.
They will spread any level of Poker (both Texas Hold 'Em and Stud) where
they can get a full table to start it.
They also have Blackjack, which you can play while your waiting for the
tourney and/or cash games to start.
FYI ... I find these games as good, or better, than ANY casino card room
I've been to, and they also have free snack foods as well for you to eat.
Sometimes they even provide dinner for free (depending on the location),
which they bring in later on in the Evening.
Also, they've said that they might be interested in coming down to
Cincinnati to hold events here as well, especially if a Charity with the
proper paperwork contacts them to contract with them (as they are an
equipment rental company) to hold a charitable event for them here in
Cincinnati.
