View Full Version : Truth Be Told

Betty Carey PPP

A few months ago I was introduced to RGP. At first I was intrigued by all the
different postings and the responses they brought. Then I got angry at the
stupidity and naivety of the people writing.

Finally I got the nerve to respond the other day, in an effort to perhaps aid
in cleaning up a game I once considered my life. All my response brought was

“Hello Betty; how are you, hope you're all right.” A flat nothing.

Truth be told, I miss the game and would still be playing if not for the
thievery, cheating, and deceit from people pretending to be my friends.

I see a person has come forward and is attacking the people you consider great
players or honest people with integrity. Believe me when I tell you they are
all a bunch of crooks and I'm speaking of those highest up, including those
running the card rooms.

How naive I was and how bitter I am now. And I will never venture into Las
Vegas again. I fear these people and know they would remove me without a second
thought.

What bothers me the most is how naïve you people are. Doesn’t anyone think
for himself – or use common sense? Don’t be so quick to dismiss some of the
things you are reading. One person’s accusations are true. I was run out and
now live far out of range of these people’s revenge. The high limit players
and management from my days are true scum. Trying to make you think they have
stopped cheating is ridiculous.

You will end up selling your soul, integrity and everything else you possess
once you see the real world of big action poker.

Betty Carey, a former professional poker player.

Um, Betty, don't take this the wrong way, but this forum has
had some recent problems with imposters posing as other people. Some
jaded, cynical types-- not me of course-- might even go so far as to
believe this wasn't the real you, Betty Carey. Can you give us any
background that might prove you are, er, who you say you are-- the
real Betty Carey-- or any other info, such as where you're living now,
etc? That way these cynical, jaded types-- not me-- can feel more
reassured about it.

Thanks,
Wayno

That wasn't the only response you got - unless you're referring to personal
emails. I'll guess the email you got was from someone who knows you
personally - most of RGP doesn't. And it's worrying (to me) how much you
sound like one of our more regular posters with this message.

Try online 2/4 & 3/6. No friends (real or false), rare (or poor) cheaters,
and lots of action.

Right on Wayno, someone is posing as me.

I have never posted on rgp until someone called and told me about this. The
person posting isn't me, it's an impostor. I made my millions playing poker and
retired a wealthy lady. Las Vegas is one of the sweetest places on earth, the
people are as genuine as they come. Ask Slim if he wants to play some, Texas
style?

I am now retired and raising a family, without a worry in the world. Thank you
Vegas, for without you my life would have been incomplete.

Well, I think that's conclusive. At least it's good enough for
me. I'm convinced. Thanks for the detailed-- as opposed to general--
information about your life. And welcome aboard, Betty. Welcome to
our newsgroup. We're one big happy family here, as you can imagine.
btw, how do you spell your last name? Is it Carey or Caray? You may
have misspelled it above-- people often do that-- misspell their own
names. It's very common. We just need to know for our records.

All the best,
Wayno

Perfectly reasonable doubt. In fact I was going to post the
same thing before I read your post. But why the smarmy
attitude? I have no reason to believe that was - or wasn't -
Betty Carey, and you shouldn't either. All your'e doing here
is repeating that same tired assertion, that anyone who
seems to be backing up Russ must be Russ. It gets old,
Wayno. Don't writers have imagination - don't y'all ever
come up with something new? Or at least drop the tedious
stuff?

This is freakin incredible, how'd you spot this and miss the Russ impostors?
Was it really the 'A' that gave it away?

Uh. You kind of specifically asked people not to try to contact you. That
kind of made it seem to me that you weren't interested in any response.

Of course the poker industry is corrupt. Did you really ever think otherwise?

Betty,
Your accusations are as intriguing as anyone's -- more so because of who you
are. It would help me to know whom is cheating -- who were and who are these
big name players and poker room managers who cheated you? Will you tell us --
so we can stay away and protect ourselvs?

I really don't think you need any protection Ashley. But the silence will
begin now because whenever anyone asks for specifics, about all this
cheating going on, all you get is silence. Either we get no names, with
anecdotal evidence, or names, with no creditable evidence. Do we really need
to fire up this merry-go-round one more time?

I thought your name was spelled "Carey", like the original poster
used, not "Caray" like you're using here.

Why would anyone believe that EITHER of these posters is the real
person?

Hi Betty.

I was also a little shocked by the lack of response to your post.

I know a little about you and one thing about you that might help the
skeptics here as to your true identity.

One of your backers was a professional out of Houston. He did not have a
profitable backing relationship with you. ( perhaps due to the reasons you
stated ?)

What was this man's profession?

Sorry your earlier post became a flame string because of my response.
