View Full Version : Hellmuth's book
Hellmuth's new book is at the top of my pile right now. It has an
entire section devoted to internet play. Although Phil pushes his
product a bit it is still a solid and easy read.

You mean a section devoted to pimping UltimateBet? That pretty much sums
up his "internet poker" section...in addition to telling the reader to be
prepared to lose a couple hundred dollars. Go get lee Jones book and apply
his principles to internet play.

Annie Duke pimps her web site in her recent Card Player Article. Lou
Kreiger pimps his new web site. Sklansky and Malmuth pimp their web
sites. Carson pimps his new book. Hellmuth pimps anything he can.
Sexton is a pimp. Linda Johnson's articles are always pimping
something, especially her cruises. This place is full of pimps.

I agree whole-heartedly. In fact, I'm thinking of trying to win a
satellite entry into the WSOP, hopefully get seated at a table with
Hellmuth, and demand my freakin' money back. If that fails, I can burn
it to keep warm after I've lost the electric bill money using his
"super-tight-is-right" strategy.
(thinking at the table) No one will notice that I'm playing one hand
an hour!
You know, he forgot one player type; the lamb, as in lambs to the
slaughter. This player is characterized as anyone who follows
Hellmuth's advice in "Play Like the Pros."
If you're looking for cheating in poker, calling that 200+-page
advertisement for Ultimatebet.com a book is cheating. Leading a reader
to believe that Hellmuth ever won using the strategy outlined in the
"book" is cheating.
In a word, the "book" is CRAP!
Just my humble (HA!) opinion,
Roland
